Welcome to The
Great Divide's Mandolin Page
The Great Divide is sure enough proud to represent Mike Kemnitzer's Nugget Mandolins, and we're also excited to have other excellent mandolin makers choose us to handle their handmade instruments.
I've known Mike Kemnitzer since the late '70s when he lived in Eldora, Colorado, and had built his first sixty mandolins or so. Mike, or Nugget as he is affectionately known, is now in the #260 range.
I'm most happy that Nugget has allowed The Great Divide to be the only dealer (besides himself) of these fine instruments this past twenty years or so. It's an informal relationship. No big nasty dealer agreements, no requirements of any kind on either of our parts. It's the kind of deal that both of us enjoy.
Nugget Availability... rest assured that Mike is slaving away making mandolins, and he's getting closer to being caught up. Orders will not be taken in the near future if at all, but rather Nuggets will be made and then offered for sale at the current retail price. These prices are not yet established. All mandolins that pass through The Great Divide will be offered in chronological order to those on our list. We do expect instruments to begin to appear in the coming year. or so
I think that they are the very best instruments that one could hope to own. See Scott's site below for great additional information on Nugget Mandolins.

Here are some links to photos of Nuggets and other good mandolins made by up and coming makers. Check our actual mandolin inventory at our Acoustic Page. There is recent mandolin news here, but more history and photos of other mandolins we have sold in past years.
Don't be confused... this is a past mini-archive. A place that you can see photos of some mandolins that we do not have any more. Current listings and prices can be found at the Acoustic Shop . I know that I'm repeating myself, but folks have gotten confused.
