Wanna Zambelli Cremona Violin

Wanna Zambelli first became well-known in 1973 when she was awarded the gold medal with the plaque of the Sacconi at the 5th Biennial of Stringed Instruments of Cremona. This is the award for the best violin by a maker under the age of thirty.Shortly afterwards she continued her work in the shop of Francesco Bissolotti, and here had the opportunity to work and study with one of the greatest violin maker/ restorers of our time, Simone Fernando Sacconi.

She is now a Master Luthier at the International Violin Making School in Cremona, and makes approximately three violins each year. Her instruments are highly prized by players in many of the great orchestras in Great Britain and the United States.Type in "Wanna Zambelli in any search engine to learn more about her. She comes up many times in the resumes of well known makers as in "studied with Wanna Zambelli."

I bought this violin while in Cremona after having a chance to tour the Cremona School with Jella Boomsma and Wanna Zambelli. It was built in 1997, and is the richest and fullest violin that I have ever played. It is a superlative example of the "Modern Cremona Style" made by one of the most well-known and respected Cremonese makers. The tone is smooth and woody, with power to spare. The level of craftsmanship is superb in all respects.

Sorry, just sold Wanna. Enjoy Jeffrey!
