Pomeroy F Style #37 This is the third of Don Paines' mandolins to pass through The Great Divide. I wish I could get more from him, but he seems to sell them pretty well all by himself. This one is quite easily the best that I've heard. He continues to refine his tone bar placement, carving, and overall craftsmanship with an eye to becoming one of the top mandolin makers. Don has a really smooth toned, but loud instrument here. The bass is very impressive, and the E and A strings are most pleasing sounding with nice sustain. This instrument has an Adirondack top and will quickly mature to be a serious instrument.... and is a bargain at the $3500 price level. He's a believer in the bone nut, and check out the tailpiece cover. The color is great, and the satin finish nicely done. I'll only have it until November 5th, then he'll sell it himself... so if you want it... now's the time. Sold feel free to email us right here
