Nugget A Deluxe #239

This is the most recent of Michael Kemnitzer's A Models. It has it all... sweetness, volume, and the major woody... tone. It now belongs to a fine picker by the name of Rich Zimmerman, and he calls me every week or so to tell me how happy he is to have made the bank loan.

For you Nugget fans out there, and I know there's a few, better times are coming. New mandolins will begin to become available in the next year or two. Not in quantity, but if you're on the list, the list will begin to move.

There's a consistency to Nugget Mandolins that goes beyond the obvious artistry and craftsmanship. It has to do with response "pop", and a beautiful bell-tone. They are generally powerful, but sweet and throaty. You can often tell when a Nugget is being played onstage at a bluegrass festival without looking to see who's on stage.

See our Mandolin Page for more Nugget photos.
